The North Face Kalymnos Climbing Festival 2012

The North Face® Kalymnos Climbing Festival held for the first time in Kalymnos island - Greece, in September 2012. 

This is the very first time that such major event takes place in Europe. It included three different competitions: high, medium and low difficulty. More than 250 climbers from around the world competed in a total of 551 climbing areas. Eight of them are new and unexplored climbing routes, opened especially for the Festival.

GO Experience covered the event with video and interviews. There were created 1 Trailer and 2 Web episodes about the festival with additional interviews.

In the 1st web episode Andrea Di Bari -the famous climber who discovered the "treasure" of Kalymnos-, Daniel Andrada and other climbers from around the world that were present at the festival, share their thoughts and experiences. Also, Aris Theodoropoulos the author of the Climbing Guide talks about the field of Kalymnos and how Di Bari discovered the most favorite destination for climbers that arrive each year on the island from around the world. The Sportmarketing Manager of The North Face® Tiziana Di Gioia exposes the effort of the company which has undertaken the festival organization in Kalymnos for 3 years.

In the 2nd web episode some of the top climbers and mountaineers around the world are hosted: the Japanese Yuji Hirayama, the brothers Iker & Eneko Pou, Hansjoerg Auer, Daila Ojeda, Caroline Ciavaldini , the 18 years old Alexandros Megos, as well as the phenomenon of mountaineering Denis Urubko from Kazakhstan.
